Simone Nichols-Segers (she/her) has two decades’ experience in grassroots/grasstops advocacy, policy development and strategy, and direct lobbying at the federal and state levels. An eternal optimist, she is a firm believer in the power of public policy to create change for good.

Simone has expertise in nearly every aspect of government relations at non-profit organizations. She started her career as a statewide grassroots organizer and over the years in multiple roles, she conducted volunteer trainings, organized lobby days in multiple states, created policy messaging materials, and wrote countless action alerts.

Her responsibilities grew to include working directly with legislators to drive policy from initial draft to passage in multiple states, she became an expert at policy analysis, and has written legislative language that became the model for similar bills nationwide.

In her most recent positions as Associate Vice President of Advocacy and Policy at the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and Vice President of Policy at the Hemophilia Federation of America, she focused on advocacy and policy strategy.

As head of advocacy departments, she was responsible for developing national policy agendas, leading advocacy operational and strategic planning, worked directly with funders, and developed budgets to support advocacy work nationwide.

Simone founded Elevated Voices Consulting to leverage her passion and skills for elevating and centering the voices of impacted individuals and communities. Her goal is to make the legislative process accessible and empowering, encouraging advocates and organizations to fully participate in every step of lawmaking.
